Education & Worship. The church meets regularly on Sundays for worship (8:30 and 11:00) and church school for adults and youth (9:45). Child care is provided for preschoolers during all church services and church school. Music & the Arts. The church has a graded choir program for kindergarten through adults, including handbell choirs for children and adults . FAME (Fun, Art, Music, Education), a Christian education program provided for children in grades K-6, meets 4-6 p..m. on Thursdays during the school year. The music ministry also sponsors a Religious Arts Festival and several major musical works each year. Second Presbyterian Youth (SPY). The SPY Network provides opportunities for 7th-12th graders to become active in the life of the church. Programs in the Network include Sunday School, confirmation classes, choir, the annual Broadway musical, Venture (Sunday night programs), Bible study, basketball teams, ski trips, conference trips, mission trips, retreats, support groups, leadership training, drama, and summer activities. Scouting. Second Pres sponsors units for Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts. Second Presbyterian Preschool. The pre-school is a week-day nurture/learning program based on children's developmental needs. LifeQuest. LifeQuest of Arkansas is a unique interfaith program which offers older adults opportunities for caring relationships, artistic expression, community service, and learning. Community Groups. Second Pres provides meeting space for many support groups, including AA, Al-Anon, ACOA, Gamblers Anonymous, Bereaved Parents, and LaLeche. Caring Groups. There is the Stephen Ministry, a program in which trained church members provide necessary care to those facing stressful life experiences; ChristCare small groups; the hospital visitation team; and the RAIN Care Team, which assists persons living with HIV/AIDS. Outreach. In addition to participation in the mission of the Presbyterian Church (USA), members also serve through projects and programs like Habitat for Humanity, Stewpot, Arkansas Rice Depot, Heifer Project International, Red Cross Blood Drives, missionaries in Nepal, the Ferncliff Conference Center, Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Home & Family Services, and the Acoustic Sounds Cafe.
